About

Nestled at the foot of Montbrison, this village which majestically opens the gateway to the Vallouise, was once "the wine cellar of the valley"; its name and coat of arms reflect the vines grown on these slopes. From this period, only a few houses remain to be pressed in ruins and a few vines. But, some sites classified as historic monuments are worth a visit: the Saint Laurent church, with its mural frescos and columnar porch, the Saint Claude chapel and the Barry (wall of the Waldensians).

Les Vigneaux displays a calm and serenity that goes back thousands of years, much appreciated by mountain lovers. Hikers will enjoy discovering the Croix de la Salcette or the Tour des têtes, while "climbers" cannot fail to admire the magnificent view of the valley from the via ferrata de la Balme.
