Description

Ideal for an introduction to trail running, this relatively flat route takes you over the H viaduct, before climbing into the Ste-Cécile forest along a wide, stony path to reach the highest point at "le Beau Cheneau", at an altitude of 410 m. (From there, a magnificent view of the ponds of Conques and the old slate quarries of H.)

Cross the N°884, pass in front of the "Eaux et Forêts" hut and go back down into the Conques woods passing in front of the "Prière de la Forêt", permanent descent to the feet of the Old Priory of Conques, place of passage of the monks going to the Abbey of Orval.

Cross the N° 884 and take the path in front of you to go along the magnificent large pond of Conques. At the end of the big pond, go up to the left in a fir tree forest, keeping a nice stream on your left hand. Pass over the Tunnel and return along the RAVEL path of the old tram line.

Return via the H. Viaduct and the Visitor Station.

If you notice fallen trees on the route, missing signposts or any other questions, please let us know at: contact@herbeumont-tourisme.be

It is essential that we respect the work of the farmers and other landowners who welcome us onto their land:

In order to prevent the herds from escaping, please close all electric fences and do not damage them!

Also, do not disturb the herds, greet people with a friendly "hello", and of course take back all your rubbish! Don't cut routes through the meadows, don't pick at them either!

Download the On Piste app and let it guide you along the route.
