The Rôle trail, with its picture-postcard vineyard landscape, precisely where the St Joseph wine originated, formerly known as Mauves wine, offers a dream ribbon for Nordic walkers.
Make the most of the 2 km warm-up. The climb that follows could be a bit of an ordeal. But it's all in a good cause: you'll see the reward at the summit, with a secret viewpoint that few are lucky enough to catch a glimpse of. Behind, the descent into the Chalaix valley looks more like a Nordic walking itinerary. But the final touch is the Rôle piste, which is the perfect finishing touch to the itinerary. Its wide ribbon of gentle slopes allows you to unwind and finish with rhythm. It would have been a pity not to come this far, despite the tough start.
