Description

A beautiful blue pearl in a green setting, Lac de Paladru is the ideal backdrop for this itinerary, which also includes archaeological and heritage gems such as the Musée Archéologique du Lac de Paladru and the Château de Virieu.

From Charavines, in front of the tourist office, take the D50 toward Montferrat.
In Montferrat, just past the Véronnière Marsh, at the intersection with the D90, turn right toward Saint-Pierre-de-Paladru.
In Saint-Pierre-de-Paladru, turn left onto the “Chemin du Bois Rayer” to reach the D17 and the Vivier ponds, then pass through Valencogne. Continue on the D17 to the center of Le Pin. At the intersection by the church in Le Pin, turn left onto Route de Chassigneu, then onto Route de la Grange Dimière. At the intersection with the D17 (Route des Plaines), turn right, then left toward Oyeu, and turn left again onto the D50E to return to Charavines. At the bottom of the Route d’Oyeu, turn left again to return to the starting point.

This circular route follows the shores of France's 5th largest natural lake. Enjoy beautiful scenery of the lake with turquoise water and explore the rich heritage of the area.
