Set off on a panoramic hike in the heart of the Alpe d'Huez countryside, offering superb views of the Grandes Rousses and Belledonne massifs. Depending on the season, ice falls and frozen lakes punctuate your walk.
From the Villard-Reculas Tourist Office, take the Villarais chairlift down to Alpe d'Huez via the Signal cable car. Then take the Pic Blanc gondola down to the first section, where the tour starts.
The main itinerary can be covered in two ways:
- One way to Alpette (approx. 1 hour's walk), with a return gondola ride from Alpette to Oz 3300, then by the Poutran gondola to Pic Blanc 1.
- Round trip between Pic Blanc 1 and l'Alpette, for a total walking time of around 2 hours.
It is also possible to extend the itinerary on foot between the Pic Blanc gondola departure point and the Pic Blanc 1 arrival station, adding around 3 km one way (or 6 km round trip) and following the existing signposting.
It is imperative to follow the trail markings throughout. Please do not use the cross-country ski trails or leave the marked routes.
Cross-country skiing is only permitted during lift opening hours.
We therefore invite you to leave some time to reach the starting village before 4:00 pm.
