The Mont Macaron from Nice is a classic not to be missed. A classic easily accessible from Nice to the first reliefs. One of the tracks gives access to the ruins of Châteauneuf (750 m) the highest point of the route. The path in balcony sometimes descending, sometimes going up joins the chapel St-Joseph. Below we can see the vast agricultural property of Sauréa (pig farming). The small asphalt road from the Châteauneuf pass, towards Tourrette-Levens we will return to medieval villages overlooking the Var valley, further west of Nice.
