Following the old railway line of Nicolau, the route passes through the municipalities of Guardiola de Berguedà and Bagà. Lightweight layout is a route that is suitable for all types of mountain runners, from those that begin in the world of the Trail to those more experienced riders who are looking for a "recuperador" course, placid and without added difficulty .
The path is signposted, clean, adapted and has no technical difficulty in the mountain runner. The unevenness is scarce and the route alternates stretches of trail, dirt track and asphalted track. The Via del Nicolau was built at the beginning of the 20th century (1914-1916) to transport wood from Gisclareny to Guardiola de Berguedà. In 2009, the path was restored for tourist purposes.
Observations:
The part of the route that runs from the municipality of Bagà to Sant Joan de l'Avellanet will take place on the same path both in and out.
Places of interest:
The great attraction of the route is the various tunnels and bridges that lie, including the Nicolau footbridge, a suspension bridge of more than 35m in length
